A man who was suspected of a DUI was arrested for the murder of his 12-year-old daughter on Friday night, Stockton police said.
Joe Zigler III, 42, was accused of driving under the influence when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a tree on California Street in Stockton on March 20, police said. The crash threw his daughter, Jo’Kisa — who was not wearing a seat belt — from the car and killed her.
Jo’Keisa’s mother, 34, was also in the car and sustained minor injuries.
Police records show Zigler had six previous DUI convictions, with one leading to a state prison sentence.
Zigler was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail without bail for murder, driving with a suspended license and felony DUI with injury.
