Authorities in Gwinnett County are investigating a shooting involving Clayton County Sheriff Victor Hill.
According to Gwinnett County Police Sgt. Brian Doan, Hill accidentally, (HUH?) shot 43-year-old Gwenevere McCord at a model home located at 2567 Britt Trail Drive in Lawrenceville at around 5:30 p.m. Sunday. McCord is in critical condition at Gwinnett Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
You do not accidently shoot someone, It is done through negligence!
Authorities said that Hill has refused to cooperate with the investigation and did not give a statement or answer questions. Because he is an active sheriff, he was allowed to leave the scene, Doan said.
BUT YEAH RIGHT HE IS NOT GETTING SPECIAL TREATMENT!!!
Neighbors told 11Alive’s Ryan Kruger that McCord is a real estate agent and a friend of Hill. Police originally said there were four people at the home at the time of the shooting — Hill, the victim and two potential home buyers. Monday morning, they said Hill and McCord were the only two people inside the house.
Investigators with the Gwinnett County Police Department are consulting with the district attorney’s office about the case. No charges have been filed and the investigation is ongoing, according to a police news release.
Hill was re-elected as sheriff of Clayton County in 2012 despite facing 37 charges of corruption at the time of the election. Hill was later acquitted of all charges. Since being re-elected, Hill has kept a relatively low profile, rarely granting interviews.
