They translated the translations

by Marty Carlson

the afternoon session started with Percy Martinez asking Steve “the juice” Jacobson if he supervised the translation use for the affidavits for the warrants for the wiretaps. His response was to some degree. He also stated in 2013 Dave Harris was also involved in giving directions to the translators. In 2014 Jacobson supervisor Dave Harris gave instructions in regards to minimum as a nation’s that were in writing. They were to be minimized when a live call came in and they were not relevant. It seems to be this term relevant is a complete discretionary and personal opinion of each individual translator does not seem to be a standard. He also stated that English or good job be calls could be minimized Azeris keywords listened to the Punjabi calls to see if there’s anything of substance in the call itself.

Jacobson was also asked if he had discussed his pending legal issues where Frank Carson had filed a lawsuit against him, and he stated that he never discussed that situation with Harris or Fladager.

Tim Rien inquired if all the information and facts on the case were giving to the monitors to determine what is pertinent, he stated that they are briefed and made aware of what the situation is. Tim rein again inquired about the data the search warrant at Pop n Cork which was 7-15-2012.

At that time there was kind of a nasty exchange between the Dist. Atty. the judge and Tim Raines when he inquired if popping Cork was also being used as a cop bar. Apparently the district attorney didn’t really understand what a cop bar is. Tim Rayne explained he has a right to inquire to this line of questioning as it is appropriate and the current circumstance.

Steve Jacobson did advise that cops would go over there and drink in the back on a regular basis and they would be from the Sheriff’s office, CHP, and Turlock Police Department, and they would Frank at the bar regularly.

He also inquired about the recording the Scott McFarland and Walter wells determined from the recording that they were friends of the at walls. He also inquired of the investigator if Korey Kaufman was a suspect in any thefts or any other type a crime with Walter wells or anyone else other than Frank Carson. He began asking the about another business in the Turlock area called the dust bowl but it was objected to as irrelevant and we never heard the answer to that one.

Attorney Hans inquired about a May 9 instruction by Dave Harris that all calls be minimized after 30 seconds and spot check after two minutes to be used as a guide to follow in the Punjabi language, the investigator confirmed that was true. Also at that time it was established that Corey Brown was a supervisor in 2012. Steve Jacobson also stated that no Punjabi calls were minimized in 2012 but apparently there were some calls that were not minimized by the Punjabi supervisors in charge of the translators. He also revealed that some keywords like Corey Kaufman and Frank Carson and were put in to the synopsis for directions to the translators and monitors.

Martha Magana inquired as to the supervisor in charge in 2013 and it was determined to be at that time Cory Brown with the duty shared by a DOJ employee. He also stated in 2014 there was 10 more calls monitored and somehow the DA objected to this line of questioning because Frank Carson was not the wiretaps subject.

Martha Magana also inquired about who the translators and monitors were and he was not able to recall all the names but was able to go down the line she every call from the initials, and it turns out most of them were Department of Justice employees.

Martha Magana all was also trying to find out how many times some translators reviewed previously translated conversations and how and who they corrected. Again the district attorney is objecting as non-relevant as she did most of the afternoon and that she does when she doesn’t want information to be revealed. Ms. Magana also asked if there was a time that Steve Jacobson was not satisfied with the translation and then ordered somebody to review it and make changes as necessary. It was also inquired at that time is Steve Jacobson spoke Punjabi and how he would know if he was not satisfied with the translation, and he of course said he does not beget you just had people review it.

Apparently they had their district attorney employee miss Sindal review many translations by a Sheriff’s office employee by the name of Sharman that were done prior to miss Sindals employment. Ms. Magana also inquired about how many calls were made to or from Frank Carson from the out walls and he explained there were not many

years also inquired about the incident in the court hallway where he had an altercation with Frank Carson which resulted in a lawsuit filed by Frank Carson.

At that time, we took our afternoon break it was about 3 o’clock when we came back in about 320 all the attorneys that were filing into the judge’s chambers for in camera hearing. When they returned it was revealed one of the attorneys had a medical issue going on and it will be addressed the next day so they decided to not have court tomorrow Thursday the 26th.

There was just minor conversation about some scheduling and witness lists, as there were some issues with scheduling next week also. Court was then adjourned until next Tuesday which I believe starts at 130 but I will have to confirm and let everyone know.

  1. Marty in your lunchtime report you talked about wells talking to quintinar about transporting kory kauffmans body. Please clarify how they knew k kauffmans body was transported.

    1. dawg417 – I am the guy people love because I am so honest, But then they get pissy when I do the same with them.

I realize that The lunch time reports can be difficult to decipher and re reading todays was not any easier. But I never said that Wells talked to Quintinar about the body being moved. It was mentioned to McFarland in talking about the Pueblo interview.
To answer your question I have no idea how they came up with the ideas the body was moved around, I guess they are assuming because they want to believe he was killed in the barn on Carsons property and someone had to move it to fit into their theory, and apparently they thought Pueblo did it.On the other hand they are claiming that that is why The Atwahls burned their truck too. So they continue to bring out all kinds of theories in just about every argument to the judge it changes. But there is no proof of any of it.

      1. Least we forget that 3 years ago the
Theory was that woody sister moved the body in a car borrowed from her
On fedral parole for bank robbery boss

Hmm i wonder if those exculpitory
Records have been turned over to the defense.

        Tell the world dawg

This fiasco has to be stopped

          dawg417 says:

, that is why we are working so hard to get the word out and the da working so hard trying to stop it

  2. Hey marty
Im curious to kmow why the judge is letting this prelim carry on? It seems the DA has a bunch of meth heads as witnesses. Their best witness admitted that she would lie to save her son, and the DA is constantly falling behind on discovery as well as trying to bring in new evidence without the defense knowledge. And the DA constant use of ” consciousness of guilt and state of mind” but thats not showing any physical evidence that any of the defendants comitted or where at the property at the suppose time of the murder……… Very intriging this case has become.

    1. dawg417 – I am the guy people love because I am so honest, But then they get pissy when I do the same with them.
      dawg417 says:

I think the Judge kinda lets the DA just present her case and let it fail or succeed. If she cuts it off what is stopping them from redoing it all over again?
I do see the judge running out of patients with this stuff so I think it will be over soon.
I am not an atty so I really have no clue.

      dawg417 says:

      I agree

  3. How friggen conveinent, the court takes a break all the way till tuesday when the defense
Finally gets the juice in there cross hairs. Got to hand it to the masterfull supervisors working for District Attorney…..REALLY!!!!
Lets put the guy who probably had a “roid rage” incident in charge of the wiretap room

Hey juice put on your “big boy pants” (term he used repeatedly in the Bail bond case) just admitt you lost your cool.

  4. I am glad to hear the dept of justice was involved in deciphering the wire taps. But I was wondering since Fladiger was running against Frank CRson for DA if there were any safeguards put in place to ensure that Fladiger did not have access to any information that would give her an unfair advantage in the election. She did have a public debate against him. Wasn’t Nixon almost impeached and had to resign for wiretapping the hotel rooms of the democrats running against him? This might be a good question to ask Kamela Harris aka DOJ.

    1. dawg417 – I am the guy people love because I am so honest, But then they get pissy when I do the same with them.
      dawg417 says:

Kamala Harris is only interested in advancing her career. She is not interested in dealing with Attorney General issues in The local areas and the problems with prosecutors misconduct. She has never prosecuted any DA or deputy DA in her reign in that job, And now is going to run for Diane Feinstein’s spot.

      1. You know what is great about Nixon, he wire tapped himself. He had bugs planted in his office for his own use. He recorded all his meeting with his advisors and just covering up a small break in at the Watergate. Which turned into a lot of the others like obstr The idiots lead by G. Gordon Liddy and a group of Cubans got caught and were arrested. Nixon won in 1972 by a landslide. The tapes are very interesting is you have time to watch. Bit hard to hear but subtitles.

  5. It’s amazing how the DA is quick to inform the court that these defendants are showing conscience of guilt, yet they never mention the actions of the defendants when the investigation first started. They threw Walter under the bus and talked about how he’s showing guilt because he wanted a different agency at his home during the raid. They forgot to add that he invited the investigators into his home, and answered all of their questions numerous times. It wasn’t until the investigators started harassing everyone, he lost trust in them and wanted to protect himself and his property from their shady destruction. I would have done the same thing, in fact I would NEVER have invited them into my home in the first place. The defense needs to let that cat out of the bag, since the DA forgot to add that. These investigators destroyed thousands of dollars worth of alcohol at Pop n cork, not to mention thousands of dollars in property damage. Who would trust them or even want to be in the same room as them?

Also, in regards to the investigators telling the wives of the defendants that there were other women (side pieces). Kirk Bunch needs to watch himself on this. He is well known, and he knows exactly what I’m talking about. People in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones. I’m too much of a lady to spill his beans, but he definitely has NO room to talk. I know a few things about Jacobsen as well. I’m not judging, there’s only 1 who can. I’d just hate to be them come judgement day.

    1. dawg417 – I am the guy people love because I am so honest, But then they get pissy when I do the same with them.
      dawg417 says:

I agree wholeheartedly it appears that they now feel that they can play judge jury and executioner, and now they feel they can step it up to play the role of God and affect people’s lives in that manner. It is become extremely obvious this is what they’ve done and only pitiful people try to do this to others. And it’s carrying over to the that shameful people in the District Attorney’s Office that are the ones that are supposed to be in charge of keeping the shit from happening.

  6. Stevie, meliessa f., bunch and the leader of the d.a. office can rewrite 187pc. They have hidden talents. These people are dangerous. How they can interpret walter wanting another agency present during the search becomes griunds for murder. All the remarks on the phone calls and the one liners between frank and his wife were just that. Conscious of gilt ,hog wash. I don’t know how these d.a. office players sleep at night. To think they have succeeded in ruining three chp officers lives. These three made one bad choice hanging out at the pop and cork drinking in the back. Not grounds for 187.

    1. dawg417 – I am the guy people love because I am so honest, But then they get pissy when I do the same with them.
      dawg417 says:

All the arguments the DA is making in court on the “state of mind” and “conscience of guilt” are valid arguments when you actually have some evidence to start with.
But to base your whole case on this type of drivel is pure nonsense and has no meat on the bone for it to stick to.
The question is how is it stopped?

  7. I worked for and believed in the system of justice in Stanislaus County for 19 years under the administration of Don Stahl. Not perfect but honest people in the DA’S office.

When he left the game changed and it became a personal vendetta administration. The good old boys network with the DA investigators as the henchmen. The truth may not set you free in this county. This is not the goal.
This has carried on for over 20 years now.Even with a new DA recently elected for another term.

Sad too, that the court must take breaks for days at a time Frank Carson remains in custody.

Also sad some people here that comment are afraid to give their names for fear of retaliation from the DA and her minions.

Lots of people behind you Frank. Keep your head up.

    1. People are afraid. I know I am. And you are right for every person putting up a comment there are probably many thousands who feel the same but don’t want to say anything for fear of reprisal. Just because someone posts anonymously does not mean the DA and her minions can’t easily find out who they are. Marty and Tom and Warren and everyone making comments understand that our freedoms are but one generation from extinction. Our constitutional rights are not free. They never were and they never will be. We are risking our personal freedom so that our children and our grandchildren will be able to live in a free country. In a country where despotic renegade DAs will not be able to terrorize an entire county like this current DA appears to be doing. Many men before us have been imprisoned, maimed, and killed so that we today can have the right to speak and write about those in government who act unjustly and abusesively. The thing that sets America apart from the rest if the world is not that we have freedom but that we hold freedom dear. Once we lose our love for freedom we have lost our freedom. So it is with tremendous courage that we step up and expose injustice and oppose tyranny.

    2. I’m not. It is total bull shit he has to sleep in that hellhole of a jail which is disgusting if you’ve ever been in it for all this time He should not even be being held and should be able to come and go he’s not a flight risk it’s just friggin ridiculous is just shows you how Low they can go and get away with it they’re dragging it out that way he has to be miserable for as long as they can make him. I think they all need to go to jail just like he has had to do when this is all over except they should never be let out. Especially DA Marlissa Fiera

watcha gotta say?
