Court was originally scheduled to start it 0930 hrs. but the judge had emailed everyone saying that he was going to be late because another traffic accident on the freeway. This accident was in fact true as I checked the CHP website and there was a fatal traffic accident on Interstate 580 at Grant line Road. Little later on I found out apparently, it was an off-duty Alameda Sheriffs deputy that was killed in that accident. Everyone affiliated with Dawgs Blog sends out our condolences to his family both personally and professionally.

The judge did not arrive to the court until shortly before 11 AM and then all attorneys went into chambers to discuss the situation somewhere in there for about 40 to 45 minutes. After all attorneys had brief discussions with their clients court then went into session.

Walter Wells was in court for continued arraignment for trial and was continued until July 25 at 1:30pm for further arraignment to let his new attorney get up to speed.

Scott MacFarlane and Eddie Quentanar both had their preliminary hearings continued until July 25 at 1:30pm but the judge did say that she wants those prelims set for hearing on that date.

In addition, a couple of these defendants are involved in the hearing scheduled for this Monday, and will also be appearing there.

At that time court was put in recess and as far as these defendants are concerned until July 25.
