One of the issues in the ongoing saga San Joaquin County Sheriff Steve Moore is the issue what is being referring to as “gun gate.”
Between 2011 and 2012 it had been reported by a former employee of some possible improprieties in the sales of evidence and other type weapons, from the sheriff department to outside sources.
Of note one of those weapons was a 22-caliber handgun that was purchased by Sheriff Steve Moore, according to the report listed below Sheriff more wanted that handgun because it had been used by Wesley Sherman time, one of the speed freak killers. The weapon had been used in the murder of a local prostitute.
This report written by Ron Freitas of the San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office. Mr. Freitas found fault in previous investigations into this matter which concluded there had been no wrongdoing. He recommended that the matter be reviewed more thoroughly and by the FBI.
Read the below PDF file for more information and details.
Note: recently Ron Freitas for unknown circumstances was escorted out of the district attorney’s office by law enforcement personnel, and to my knowledge has not been allowed to return.
