Took my 650 GS out for a ride in the hills yesterday, to survey the condition of the roads, which have suffered a lot of damage in recent storms. I was able to get through to Ben Hur Road outside Mariposa, & on to Raymond, which was not possible just a few days before. This photo was taken on Road 600, looking south, as I headed from Raymond up to Hwy 49, just north of Oakhurst, in Madera County. (The “hills” here would count as actual mountains in some parts of the country, but I guess their proximity to the mighty Sierra relegate them to the lesser category.) Such a chlorophyll-saturated landscape!
