INTERESTRING VIEW FROM A SOCIALIST……..

New York Democratic congressional candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez caused a stir for criticizing Israel’s “occupation” of Palestine in a recent interview.

Ocasio-Cortez, who surprisingly won a New York Democratic primary on a socialist platform, made the remark during an interview on PBS’s “Firing Line” on Friday.

The 28-year-old political newcomer was roundly criticized for making the statement then admitting that she is “not the expert at geopolitics on this issue.”

It wasn’t the only controversial thing Ocasio-Cortez said during the “Firing Line” interview…

Ocasio-Cortez was also asked if capitalism has failed to deliver for working class Americans, in light of the nation’s booming economy and low unemployment numbers.

“Unemployment is low because everyone has two jobs,” Ocasio-Cortez asserted. “Unemployment is low because people are working 60, 70, 80 hours a week and can barely feed their kids.”

Ocasio-Cortez — who is set to square off against Republican Anthony Pappas in New York’s 14th congressional district race in the fall — blamed “no-holds-barred, Wild West, hyper-capitalism” for the problems working Americans face.

“What that means is profit at any cost,” Ocasio-Cortez continued. “Capitalism has not always existed in the world, and it will not always exist in the world.”

On “Fox & Friends” on Wednesday,  Tomi Lahren said it’s disturbing that the “future of the Democratic Party” doesn’t seem to understand how the unemployment rate is calculated.

The unemployment rate is determined by taking the number of unemployed people and dividing it by the number of people in the labor force, so the number of people working multiple jobs has no bearing on the formula.
