SOME PEOPLE THINK WE HAVE AN ANONYMOUS VOTING SYSTEM, THIS WILL SHOW WE DO NOT AS YOU CAN CHECK YOUR BALLOT HERE:
Ballot Status
Under the federal Help America Vote Act (HAVA) of 2002, every voter who casts a provisional ballot is entitled to find out from his/her county elections official if the ballot was counted and if not, the reason why it was not counted.
Under California Elections Code sections 3017 (PDF) and 3019.5 (PDF), a voter who casts a vote-by-mail ballot can find out if the ballot arrived at his/her county elections office, if the ballot was counted, and, if not, the reason why it was not counted.
Each county elections official allows voters to check the status of his/her vote-by-mail and provisional ballot either through the county website, by telephone, or both.
To find out if your vote-by-mail ballot was received by your county elections official or if your provisional ballot was counted, please click on the appropriate link below or call the phone number listed for the county elections office. Actually, the ballot itself is totally anonymous. Only the information on the outside of the pink envelope is checked, specifically the signature. If it is not eligible to be counted it is tossed. But if it can be counted the envelopes are opened and emptied by an automatic procedure, they are then straightened and gotten ready to go into the counting machine. It is such a fast process that no one has time to look at anything. I have worked in the election office 3 different years and I have complete faith in Stanislaus County’s way of counting votes. There are so many strict procedures, every vote gets counted that is eligible and it is completely anonymous. Any citizen is allowed to go in and watch how it works.
You may be right about the ballot, but then again maybe not. I checked on my ballot and It had my name and address.and year of birth. That is not anonymous and easy for the Russians, Chinese, democrats or republicans to trace. I have worked polls too but this article references mail in ballots.
I checked through the website and our ballots were accepted, although I am beginning to wonder why I vote especially in this state.
