RAIDER GAMES UPDATE- POSSIBLE PARTIAL
PLAY IN ELPASO
It looks as if the NFL could be returning to El Paso, at least on a temporary basis
According to a report in Forbes, the Las Vegas Raiders could very well play a portion of their 2020 season at the Sun Bowl.
The report states that if construction on the Raiders’ new home, Allegiant Stadium, isn’t completed by the start of the season, they could be forced to look at backup options. Among those options are Sam Boyd Stadium, former home of the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, the Alamodome in San Antonio and El Paso.
RAIDER GAMES UPDATE
Construction on the two-billion dollar stadium project is on hold after a second construction worker tested positive for COVID-19.
Marc Ganis, a consultant to multiple NFL teams, was attributed in the report saying Sam Boyd Stadium makes the most sense for the Raiders if they need a field for a home game or two to start the 2020 season. The schedule itself for the upcoming season will not be released until May.
