A NOTE FROM TOM JENSEN ON THE ELECTION

I am Urging all my readers to vote.

This is the most important election in the history of the United States. Keep America Great. Protect our Second Amendment Rights. Keep our country from becoming Socialist.

Our economy will tank if Joe Biden takes over. We are much safer under the leadership of Donald J Trump.

He will open up our country, and keep our businesses from going under. He will open up our schools.

Does the average American family want to give up $6000 to fund the Socialist crazy plans that the Democratic Party wants?

Your vote can protect America from a corrupt, senile, and dishonest man’s insanity.

Nobody has done more than Donald J Trump to get us through this pandemic. We are weeks away from final approval for at least one vaccine that will stop this pandemic in its tracks.

We now have effective treatments that can quickly resolve a COVID infection.

If you vote for Joe Biden you will be literally shooting yourself in the foot. He will be quickly replaced by Kamala Harris. She is the most radical Socialist in the United States Senate.

We will be forced to give up our gasoline powered cars. Our taxes will explode. Our investments will be destroyed. This is not the same old Democratic Party that we all grew up with.

China will have control of everything if Joe Biden wins this election.

Trump wants to bring our jobs and manufacturing back from China.

Please Vote!

ARKANSAS LATE RENT MEANS JAIL

ARKANSAS LATE RENT MEANS JAIL

Evictions in Arkansas can snowball from criminal charges to arrests to jail time because of a 119-year-old law that mostly impacts female, Black and low-income renters. Even prosecutors have called it unconstitutional.

ARKANSAS LATE RENT MEANS JAIL TIME

It was bad enough when Jazmon Allen lost her waitressing job in March at a Hot Springs, Arkansas, barbecue restaurant during statewide closures meant to curb the pandemic.

Then after she fell behind on her rent came the shock that only happens to tenants in Arkansas: In May, her landlord filed a criminal complaint for failing to pay and failing to vacate the property.

When Allen, 29, didn’t appear in court as required on the morning of July 9, a warrant was issued for her. Four days later, an officer handcuffed her and booked her into a cell at the local sheriff’s office, where she remained for six hours until her mother posted bail.

Arkansas is the only state in the country that allows landlords to file criminal — rather than civil — charges against tenants after they fall behind on rent. Based on a law dating back to 1901, if tenants’ rent is even a day overdue, they forfeit their right to be in the property. Then, if they don’t leave their homes within 10 days of getting a notice from their landlords, they can be charged with a misdemeanor.

“I hate that law. It’s unconstitutional,” said Josh Drake, a deputy prosecutor in the county where Allen was charged. The statute, he thinks, makes poverty a crime and violates the Eighth Amendment prohibiting cruel and unusual punishment. Nonetheless, Drake feels he must continue prosecuting these charges as long as the law remains on the books. He has represented the state in more than a dozen failure-to-vacate cases in the past few years.

In all other states, not appearing in civil eviction proceedings typically results in a ruling in favor of the landlord that gives the tenant a certain number of days to leave. Stay, and the landlord can enlist the sheriff to help remove the tenant’s belongings and change the locks, but the tenant does not face criminal charges.

ONLY IN ARKASAS DOES THIS HAPPEN

But in Arkansas, the consequences can be more dire. Near the state’s western border in Mena, Jocelyn Mailly, 66, feared jail so much she went to court for her failure-to-vacate hearing in August despite having a fever and a presumptive positive coronavirus diagnosis. She had fallen behind on her monthly mobile home dues in June.

Evictions in the state can snowball from charges to warrants to arrests to jail time. The evicted, who research shows are disproportionately female, Black and low-income, are then saddled with a permanent criminal record, making it harder to find a new place to live or a job.

Around the country, leaders have paused evictions altogether as the pandemic has thrown millions of people out of work. In Arkansas, however, COVID-19 has not deterred criminal eviction cases. Since mid-March, more than 200 new failure to vacate cases have been filed statewide, according to online records and a survey of 28 district courts in the state’s largest communities by ProPublica and the Arkansas Nonprofit News Network. At least seven women were detained or sentenced to jail for not appearing in court.

Even a national moratorium on evictions didn’t stop the practice: …….

NFL PLAYER FLIPS OFF DEMONSTRATORS

NON-STORY OF THE DAY NFL PLAYER GIVE THE FINGER

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins appeared to flip off Trump supporters as he drove past in a Ferrari on Arizona’s I-10 highway on Sunday, according to multiple reports.

Hopkins, 28, one of the top wide receivers in the NFL, allegedly made the obscene gesture as he was driving through a miles-long caravan of Trump supporters in Glendale, according to FOX 10 Phoenix.

Photos of the alleged incident, which occurred around 1:30 p.m., were posted online by Twitter users. Some of the motorists in the caravan also accused Hopkins of recklessly driving his luxury sports car.

“It’s scary when they are coming up fast and swerving into you,” said April Garcia, according to The Arizona Republic. She added that people were also throwing water and other objects at the caravan.

Hopkins reportedly made the gesture on the way to State Farm Stadium, ahead of the Cardinals game against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday night.

He was seen wearing the same shirt upon his arrival at the stadium later that afternoon, the paper reported.

As of Sunday evening, the Department of Public Safety and the Cardinals had yet to release information about the incident, according to FOX 10.

The Cardinals did not immediately reply to Fox News’ request for comment.

BIDEN BACTRAKING 60 MINUTES STATEMENT

BIDEN BACTRAKING 60 MINUTES STATEMENT

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden said that the government could provide four-year college educations for $150 billion, only for his campaign to later admit it would really be closer to double that amount.

BIDEN BACTRAKING 60 MINUTES STATEMENT

During an interview that aired Sunday on CBS’ “60 Minutes,” Biden bragged about the number as a feature of proposed “significant institutional changes” that would include a 15% minimum tax on corporations, saying it would raise more than $400 billion.

“I can send every single qualified person to a four-year college in their state for $150 billion,” Biden said. “I can make sure every single person who qualifies for community college can go and we still have a lotta money left over. That’s what I mean by significant institutional changes.

“60 Minutes” noted that organizations like the Tax Policy Center have questioned the validity of Biden’s claims that the corporate tax would raise that much money. His quoted cost of education was also off the mark, according to his campaign.

“After our interview, Mr. Biden’s staff told us he misspoke, and that the cost of free public college could be twice as much as he said,” CBS’ Norah O’Donnell said in a voice-over after Biden’s claim aired.

This was not the first time Biden misspoke over the weekend. He caught himself at an “I Will Vote Concert” virtual campaign event Sunday when he was discussing who he was running against.

“Not because I’m running, but because who I’m running against, this is the most consequential election in a long, long, long time,” Biden said. “And the character of the country in my view is literally on the ballot. What kind of country we’re gonna be? Four more years of George, ah, George… gonna find ourselves in a position where if Trump gets elected we’re going to be in a different world.”

AOC won’t say whether she’ll support Pelosi for speaker

APPARENTLY, THINGS MAY HAVE CHANGED SINCE JULY

New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez appeared to violate her truce with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Sunday, sparking what could become renewed infighting between the progressive wing and moderate congressional Democrats if the party retains control of the House in 2020.

PELOSI AOC FEUD MAY BE ON AGAIN AFTER COMMENTS

Ocasio-Cortez told CNN host Jake Tapper Sunday morning that she plans to support the “most progressive” candidate for House speaker, and that she would consider other Democratic candidates to replace Pelosi’s position if the California Democrat doesn’t measure up.

“If Speaker Pelosi runs again, as she just indicated she will, if the Democrats keep the House, will you support her?” Tapper asked.

“I want to make sure that we win the House,” the freshman congresswoman responded. “I do believe that we will, but it’s critically important that we are supporting Democrats in tight swing races, making sure that not only all of them come back but that we grow our majority.”

But, she added, “I believe that we have to see those races as they come, see what candidates are there. I am committed to making sure that we have the most progressive candidate there. But, if Speaker Pelosi is that most progressive candidate, then I will be supporting her.”

Pelosi, 79, who has served in the House for more than 30 years,  clashed with Ocasio-Cortez and allied freshmen lawmakers last year over their policy differences — which span everything from their approach to immigration to their early calls for impeachment against President Trump.

The lawmakers claimed to have reached an understanding after meeting privately in July 2019, and have publicly remained in each other’s good graces since.

THE NFAC IS ARMING THEMSELVES

THE NFAC IS ARMING THEMSELVES

An all-Black group is arming itself and demanding change.

They are the NFAC

When two loud bangs rang out on the streets of Lafayette, Louisiana, no one knew where the gunshots came from as protesters gathered to demand justice for another Black man killed by police.

THE NFAC IS ARMING THEMSELVES TO PROTECT THEMSELVES

Among the crowd was a group of armed Black men and women who call themselves the “Not F**king Around Coalition” or NFAC. The group did not run toward the gunshots or break formation. Instead, they kneeled on the ground amid the confusion, and then walked away after their leader shouted, “fall back! fall back!”

The all-Black, Atlanta-based group has grown in size out of frustration during a summer of protests against questionable policing and the deaths of countless Black people at the hands of police, said their founder John Fitzgerald Johnson.

Their presence has caused a stir in the cities they’ve visited and the group has drawn some criticism after people accidentally fired a weapon during two of their rallies, including the one in Lafayette.

THE GROUP STARTED IN 2017

Started in 2017, the group has marched in Stone Mountain, Georgia, calling for the removal of the nation’s largest confederate monument; Brunswick, Georgia, for Ahmaud Arbery; Louisville, Kentucky, demanding more transparency in the Breonna Taylor case; and most recently Lafayette, Louisiana, in the name of Trayford Pellerin.

Along with protesters rallying in multiple US cities, largely White groups have also showed up and asserted their Second Amendment right to bear arms. Unlike many of those groups, Johnson says his group emerged as a response to enduring racial inequality and police brutality.

“We’re not ‘effing’ around anymore with the continued abuses within our community and the lack of respect for our men, women and children,” Johnson told CNN.

The all-Black group, Johnson said, intends to protect, self-police and educate Black communities on firearms and their constitutional rights.

“We are not against anyone,” said Johnson, who is also known as Grand Master Jay.
