DIPSHIDIOT OF THE DAY TREK BIKE SHOP IN QUEENS
NYC-A free-wheeling crook swiped an $11,400 bike from a Queens shop after telling workers that he wanted to take it out for a test ride, police said.
The suspect walked into the Trek Bicycle shop on 70th Road nears Queens Blvd. in Forest Hills on Oct. 26 around 6:30 p.m., pretending to be a customer.
After looking over all the two-wheelers that were for sale, he took a Trek Domane SLRQ for a test ride — and never returned, cops said.

DAWG SAYS: SO THEY JUST LET ANYONE GET ON A $11,400 BIKE AND RIDE AWAYWITH NO NAME OR ANYTHING?
Aren’t businesses usually insured against theft? Maybe the premiums need be a little higher to waken the proprietor.
Was there a theft? sounds like he had permission to ride it and just did not return. Insurance may not cover this one.
