Biden to Impose $200 Gun Tax

Joe Biden may force semiautomatic rifle owners to either participate in a gun buyback program, or register their firearm under the National Firearms Act, which requires the payment of a $200 tax. This would extend to AR-15s and other common household rifles. Those who do not comply would face up to 10 years in federal prison, and a potential $10,000 fine.

This is yet another violation of Joe Biden’s pledge against any tax increase on anyone making less than $400,000 a year.

As detailed on Biden’s campaign website, “Biden will also institute a program to buy back weapons of war currently on our streets. This will give individuals who now possess assault weapons or high-capacity magazines two options: sell the weapons to the government, or register them under the National Firearms Act.” This triggers the $200 tax.

In order to register a firearm (or a magazine, under Joe Biden’s plan), you have to send in a 13-page, complicated application form with the $200 tax included, your fingerprints, and a photograph of yourself. In this way, the hurdles to legally own your weapon or high-capacity magazine go far beyond the expensive tax.

18 MILLION AR – 15’S ARE OWNED

Given there are nearly 18 million AR-15s privately owned in the United States, gun owners could potentially be forced to pay a collective $3.6 billion in taxes. This figure doesn’t even include other weapons the left considers “assault weapons” and the additional magazines many gun owners would have to register.

Many families who have already been struggling due to the economic damage done by the coronavirus would find themselves incapable of paying for the ability to practice a constitutional right of theirs.

According to the Biden campaign, any magazine that holds more than 10 rounds is a “high capacity” magazine. Even if someone owns only one AR-15, if they have just four standard capacity magazines, they would owe the federal government $1,000.

Suddenly, gun control becomes less about mere firearm ownership and more about controlling working-class Americans. In urban areas, where people are most vulnerable to crime, it’s not hard to imagine how crushing this could be. There is nothing new about leftist politicians taxing urban residents in order to dictate behavior, ownership, and lifestyle.

RURAL AREAS PROBABLY HIT HARDEST

In poor rural areas, the ability to hunt, fend off dangerous animals, etc. would be especially compromised. In Time Magazine, one article explains that “leaders of 15 state shooting groups said semiautomatic rifles are popular with hunters in their states. Hunters say they favor the gun for its versatility, accuracy and customizable features for shooting animals. The semiautomatic feature, which allows these guns to shoot up to 45 rounds a minute, is not always necessary, but useful in some situations, hunters say. “It’s the most capable tool for the job at this time,” said Eric Mayer, who runs AR15hunter.com. “Bar none. Period. It is.”” This group explains that AR-15s and AR-10s can be effective in hunting feral pigs, feral goats, antelope jackrabbits, elk, coyotes, and deer. In Pennsylvania, where semiautomatic rifles are allowed for hunting, 374,690 deer were harvested in 2019.

Kim Kelly, a labor organizer in Brooklyn, explained the economic implications of this law in the Washington Post: “Regardless of one’s opinion on guns and gun control, it is obvious that this proposal will disproportionately impact poor and working-class communities. Those within those communities who already own firearms would be robbed of their ability to protect themselves and their loved ones, while their wealthier counterparts would skate by on their ready piles of cash… In effect, Biden’s plan sets in motion a “war on guns,” the same way his predecessors declared wars on “poverty,” “crime” and “terror” — wars in which it was inevitably black and brown people who were the real targets.”

The $200 gun tax suggests certain assumptions by Biden and other leftist politicians, made about working-class Americans and their ability to responsibly own firearms. The Second Amendment is a right held by all Americans, not just wealthy ones.

Sheriffs not enforcing Newsom’s coronavirus curfew, won’t ‘make criminals’ of law-abiding citizens

LAW ENFORCEMENT DOES NOT HAVE NEWSOMS BACK

California business owners face new round of coronavirus rules as cases spike; hair stylist Erica Kious weighs in on new restrictions.

A California sheriff says she will not enforce Gov. Gavin Newsom‘s new coronavirus curfew, according to reports.

Newsom announced a number of measures on Thursday, including limited stay-at-home orders and overnight curfews for nonessential work between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. every Saturday until Dec. 21.

Fresno Sheriff Margaret Mims, however, said she wouldn’t be penalizing residents who didn’t follow the curfew, FOX 26 reported.

“We’ve got a lot of things to do, including taking guns away from gang members, stopping narcotic trafficking, and saving children from internet predators,” Mims said during a video briefing Thursday afternoon.

THEY HAVE REAL CRIMINALS TO DEAL WITH

“We’re not gonna make criminals of normally law-abiding citizens.”

The department will not set up any checkpoints or pull over people to verify their reason for being out past curfew, Mims added.

Other law enforcement agencies plan to take a similarly hands-off approach to the curfew.

Merced County sheriff’s deputies, Madera police, Visalia police and Kings County deputies all plan to continue business as usual rather than refocus on the curfew.

“We’re gonna continue to do our law enforcement responsibilities to protect the community. We’re enforcing it through education and try to encourage compliance,” Madera Police Chief Dino Lawson said.

“We’re not going to enforce any of those orders,” Kings County Sheriff’s Commander David Dodd said. “The Kings County Board of Supervisors has asked us to take an educational approach. We’re going to refer people to the written guidelines to prevent the spread.”

ANOTHER LAWSUIT OVER SENATE RACE

ANOTHER LAWSUIT OVER SENATE RACE IN CLARK COUNTY

Defeated Republican congressional candidate Dan Rodimer filed a lawsuit Thursday asking a Clark County judge to overturn the county’s certified election results and order a new contest due to what the lawsuit claims are “substantial irregularities, improprieties and fraud” found in the mail balloting process.

The lawsuit is nearly identical to two others filed Monday by congressional candidate Jim Marchant and State Senate candidate April Becker. All three were written by Las Vegas attorney Craig Mueller.

Rodimer was defeated by Rep. Susie Lee by about 12,500 votes in Lee’s 3rd District, all of which is contained in Clark County.

Like Marchant and Becker, Rodimer claims the county’s use of a machine to verify signatures and the practice of sending ballots to all active registered voters, as required by a newly enacted state law, led to widespread fraud and improper voting.

These claims mirror those made by Republicans and President Donald Trump’s campaign in prior lawsuits, which have been rejected by both state and federal courts in Nevada up to this point. Election officials and state leaders have also rejected these claims.

OF COURSE THE COUNTY DENIED THE CLAIM

The county condemned the latest lawsuit in a statement sent Thursday.

“Once again we see a complaint that repeats allegations the courts have already rejected and parrots erroneous allegations made by partisans without first-hand knowledge of the facts,” spokesman Dan Kulin said.

Rodimer’s lawsuit also attempts to use the county’s decision not to certify the race for County Commission District C, which was decided by just 10 votes, as an example of these alleged improprieties. The commission is currently weighing a new election for District C due to 139 “discrepancies” identified by Clark County Registrar Joe Gloria.

All other races, including Rodimer’s, were certified by the county commission on Monday. Gloria stated then that there were not enough of these discrepancies to call any other race into question.

“That’s the only race in the entire election where we have any concern related to the outcome, and it’s because of the close margin,” Gloria told commissioners.

THE ELECTION TO BE CERTIFIED NEXT WEEK

The Nevada Supreme Court and Gov. Steve Sisolak are expected to certify the election statewide on Tuesday.

While Marchant and Becker sought districts with significant overlap with District C, the 3rd Congressional District includes only a small portion contained in the county district.

Like Trump, Rodimer and Marchant saw very close election night margins widen as more and more votes were counted in Clark County in the days that followed.

Rodimer’s lawsuit is at least the 10th time a Republican or conservative group, party or candidate has sued in Nevada attempting to either change election rules or invalidate the results. Only one, an emergency request to keep several Clark County polling places open an hour later after technical issues delayed the beginning of in-person voting on election day, has been successful so far.

A WINNER ALSO SUED

Democrat Ross Miller, the candidate who won that narrow 10-vote victory in District C, also sued the county this week.

Earlier this year, state and local Democrats also sued the state in an attempt to expand vote-by-mail, relax ballot signature requirements and enhance the time given to fix or “cure” ballots. The parties dropped their call for immediate action after Clark County relaxed some requirements in the June primary election.

NOR CAL ADVENTURES CONFUSION HILL

NOR CAL ADVENTURES CONFUSION HILL

You Have To Visit The One Place In Northern California That Defies Physics

There’s a place that truly seems to go against all rules of the universe right here in Northern California. Confusion Hill is a little roadside attraction located amid towering Redwoods. It looks wholly out of place in its remote setting and although it appears to be one of those attractions where the owners are merely looking for a quick buck, that is simply not the case here. Confusion Hill truly defies physics, and you could spend hours getting your mind boggled here.

NOR CAL ADVENTURES CONFUSION HILL ON HWY 101

Confusion Hill is reminiscent of the classic roadside attractions that sprang to popularity during the 1940s. That’s partially because the attraction was originally opened in 1949 and it’s been entertaining (and confusing) people ever since.
The attraction is located off of US 101 near the town of Piercy in Mendocino County.
Confusion Hill is most prominently home to “The Gravity House” but also contains several smaller and just as kitschy wonders like the “World’s Tallest Freestanding Redwood Chainsaw Carving”.

There are several amusements to explore at the attraction.
Kids will love The Redwood Shoehouse which was originally used
as a float in Fort Bragg’s 1946 Fourth of July Parade.

The attraction was built after World War II by George Hudson who had a love for all things weird. He believed that there are several places in Northern California where nature defies its own laws and that this phenomenon is a brief glimpse into the magical wonders of the universe.

The fact that Confusion Hill is located among the towering redwoods just adds to the wondrous quality of this attraction.
Redwoods themselves are mind-bending things of nature.
You can even observe a fallen redwood stump’s rings which are labeled with different historic events, dating back 950 years.

However, the main attraction is the Gravity House and it’s definitely something you do not want to miss.

THINGS LOOK TILTED INSIDE

As soon as you enter the small wooden structure,
you’ll experience a strange optical illusion which makes other people appear tilted.
Explore all of the weird illusions that are located in the house,
including a chair which you can easily sit down in but may have trouble getting out of.

Other attractions include a Mountain Train Ride which takes you on an incredible 30 minute ride through the redwoods.

If you have an interest in the weird and bizarre wonders of the world, you definitely need to make a trip to Confusion Hill.

Confusion Hill is located at 75001 U.S. 101 Piercy, CA 95587. They are open daily from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

NYC CHRISTMAS TREE ARRIVES

GOOD GRIEF CHARLIE BROWN

This year’s Rockefeller Christmas tree, which comes from Central New York, is reminding many people of Charlie Brown.

The 75-foot Norway spruce, donated by Al Dick of Daddy Al’s General Store in Oneonta, N.Y., arrived in New York City on Saturday for the annual holiday tradition. Many social media users complained it didn’t look very full after being lifted into its spot by a crane, and compared it to the sad-looking tree from “A Charlie Brown Christmas.”

  • “Charlie Brown: I have the saddest Christmas Tree. Rockefeller Center: Hold my beer,” Emily Brandwin tweeted.
  • “The 2020 Rockefeller Center Christmas tree looks like 2020 feels,” another Twitter user said.
  • “Could the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree look any worse? 2020 on brand,” Rex Chapman wrote.
  • “You get what you pay for at Four Seasons Total Landscaping!” one user joked to Chapman.
  • “In true 2020 form, the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree looks like it tried to cut its own hair,” another tweet said.

TWITTER LIT UP OVER TREE

Good grief. Some also compared it to the Fountain Square Tree in Cincinnati, which was mocked earlier this month.

“Rockefeller Tree trying to make a run against the Fountain Square Tree for the charlie brownest tree 2020,” one Twitter user said.

“The Rockefeller tree. The Cincinnati tree. You know what? ALL 2020 Christmas trees should be Charlie Brown trees. Every dang one. I wouldn’t have it any other way. On New Year’s Eve, we can light them all on fire and pretend none of this ever happened,” another tweeted.

The Rockefeller Center Christmas tree was cut down Thursday in Oneonta and loaded onto a 115-foot-long trailer before arriving in NYC. The tree will be decorated over the coming weeks, with added branches and more than 5 miles of lights.

A tree-lighting ceremony is scheduled for Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. on NBC’s “Christmas in Rockefeller Center” special. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, there will be no public access to this year’s event, but the lighting will be broadcast on television to continue the tradition.

GO AHEAD PUT YOUR LIGHTS UP

GO AHEAD PUT YOUR LIGHTS UP

Go ahead, put up the Christmas lights now!

Science says it will make you happier

WE ARE ALL ITCHING TO DO IT

If you’re itching to break out the Christmas lights before you’ve even carved the Thanksgiving turkey, go ahead — psychologists say it might make you happier.

The British website Unilad got us all thinking about trimming the tree a few weeks early. In 2017, it reported that people who decorate earlier are simply tapping into the excitement of the holidays before the rest of us — which makes them happier.

Psychologist Deborah Serani confirmed to TODAY Home that it’s true: Decorating can definitely lift your mood.

“It does create that neurological shift that can produce happiness,” she said. “I think anything that takes us out of our normal habituation, the normal day in, day out … signals our senses, and then our senses measure if it’s pleasing or not.”

“Christmas decorating will spike dopamine, a feel-good hormone,” Serani added.

TRIGGER THOSE HAPPY HORMONES

But what is it, exactly, about Christmas decorations that triggers those happy hormones? For starters, the bright lights and colors, Serani said. Chromotherapy, or color therapy, which is thought to increase energy levels and boost happiness, might be at play. Or maybe it’s just the ambiance in general — who can resist smiling at the sight of a Christmas tree being lit for the first time? There’s even a new scientific field devoted to understanding how our designed environments affect behavior called neuro-architecture.

Of course, there’s also the nostalgia factor.

“For a lot of us, Christmas is a magical time, it’s a time of innocence, it’s a time of joy,” Serani said.

Is it too early to put up Christmas decorations? TODAY anchors say…

If you’re someone who has happy childhood memories of the holidays, then you’re more likely to want to re-create that feeling sooner rather than later, which you might do by hanging up Christmas lights, for example. There’s a flip side, though. If holidays dredge up bad memories from childhood, then you might be the person who hates when decorations pop up in the grocery store before October.

START NEW HAPPY TRADITIONS

If you identify more with the latter, psychologist and happiness expert Elizabeth Lombardo has this tip: “Start a new tradition,” she told TODAY Home. “Whether it’s going away, seeing a movie as a family, volunteering. It creates a new association.” The next time the holidays roll around, you’ll subconsciously connect that time of the year with your newer, happier memories.

There’s another possible benefit to decorating early, though: The neighbors might think you’re friendlier! Research has shown that people interpret Christmas decorations on a home as a cue that the people inside are sociable.

TUCKER CARLSON CALLS OUT TRUMP TEAM

TUCKER CARLSON CALLS OUT TRUMP TEAM

Tucker Carlson bashes Trump attorney Sidney Powell for lack of evidence in fraud claims:

‘She never sent us any’

TUCKER CARLSON CALLS OUT TRUMP TEAM ON VOTING

As Fox News host Tucker Carlson noted on Thursday night, he’s more than willing to give airtime to outlandish claims. “We literally do UFO segments,” he said.

Fox News host Tucker Carlson called out President Trump’s attorney Sidney Powell for not providing his show any evidence of alleged voter fraud.

But even Carlson said he was fed up with the total lack of evidence produced by Sidney Powell, one of the Trump campaign’s attorneys, for her unfounded allegation that electronic voting systems had switched millions of ballots to favor President-elect Joe Biden.

“We invited Sidney Powell on the show. We would have given her the whole hour,” Carlson said. “But she never sent us any evidence, despite a lot of requests, polite requests. Not a page. When we kept pressing, she got angry and told us to stop contacting her.”

NEVER SHOWED THE PROOF

Carlson also noted: “She never demonstrated that a single actual vote was moved illegitimately by software from one candidate to another. Not one.”

On his Thursday show, Carlson didn’t discount the larger claims of Trump’s attorneys that massive fraud disrupted the election — an allegation that has been repeatedly dismissed in court and for which the White House has presented no public evidence.

But Carlson’s rebuke of Powell marked a notable departure for a show — and a network — that has given hours of credulous coverage to false claims by President Trump and his associates that fraud cost him the election. It came after Fox News aired a rambling news conference on Thursday featuring Powell and Trump’s personal attorney, Rudolph W. Giuliani, making numerous false and far-fetched allegations about the election.

Rudy Giuliani floated ‘dangerous’ and incendiary false claims of election conspiracy — and Fox News broadcast it live

STARTING TO SHOW INNER CONFLICT AT FOX

The segment also put Carlson at odds with other Fox News hosts like Jesse Watters, who on his Thursday show described Powell and Giuliani’s news conference as “a big shot of adrenaline.”

Powell, who didn’t respond to a message from The Washington Post, pushed back on Carlson in a statement to the Washington Examiner, saying that she would “encourage him and all journalists to review all the materials we have provided so far and conduct their own investigations.”

While conceding that Giuliani “did not conclusively prove” any fraud at Thursday’s news conference, Carlson argued that “he did raise legitimate questions and in some cases, he pointed to what appeared to be real wrongdoing.” And he praised Giuliani and Powell for calling into question the security of electronic voting.

But Carlson said that Powell had gone too far without proof in claiming that Trump “had won by a landslide” and that a conspiracy masterminded by electronic voting firms had changed the results. Her statements on those subjects have been repeatedly disproved, The Post’s Fact Checker reported on Thursday.

“What Powell was describing would amount to the single greatest crime in American history,” Carlson said.

CARLSON NOT DISPUTING JUST WANTS SOME PROOF

Carlson emphasized that he “did not dismiss any” of Powell’s claims, and said he “took Sidney Powell seriously with no intention of fighting with her.” But he said he was disturbed that she didn’t produce any evidence for his show.

“We simply wanted to see the details. How could you not want to see them?” he said.

Carlson ended the segment by defending his decision to call Powell out.

“Why are we telling you this?” he said. “We’re telling you this because it’s true, and in the end, that’s all that matters.”

DAWG SAYS: TRUMPS PEOPLE LIKE GUILIANI AND OTHERS NEED TO STOP TALKING AND START SHOWING THE EVIDENCE.
