CALIFORNIA SUPREME COURT SEX OFFENDERS CAN BE RELEASED
California Supreme Court rules sex offenders can qualify for early parole
The California Supreme Court ruled Monday that inmates who have been convicted of nonviolent sex crimes may be eligible for early parole consideration as part of a ballot measure that nearly two-thirds of voters approved of four years ago.
“The initiative’s language provides no indication that the voters intended to allow the (Corrections) Department to create a wholesale exclusion from parole consideration based on an inmate’s sex offense convictions when the inmate was convicted of a nonviolent felony,” wrote Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye in the unanimous decision.
Former Gov. Jerry Brown, who championed the 2014 initiative as a way to reduce prison populations and costs by speeding up chances for parole, has repeatedly said he and other proponents never intended for it to cover sex offenders.
But lower appeals courts ruled that the plain language of the initiative means they cannot be excluded from consideration as nonviolent offenders, and the high court agreed.
The ballot measure, the justices ruled, “is not ambiguous concerning its scope regarding offenders who were previously convicted of a registerable sex offense or who are currently convicted of a registerable sex offense that the Department has itself defined as nonviolent.”
Under California law violent offenses include things like rape, sodomy and continuous sexual abuse of a child. But the definition leaves out many other offenses, like pimping, incest, indecent exposure and possessing child pornography.

TICKETMASTER FINED MILLIONS FOR SPYING ON COMPETITORS
Ticketmaster to pay $10 million in fines after admitting to illegally accessing competitor’s computers
Ticketmaster entered into a plea agreement with federal prosecutors in Brooklyn, New York and will pay $10 million in fines to resolve charges that it accessed the computer systems of a competitor without authorization.
“Ticketmaster employees repeatedly — and illegally — accessed a competitor’s computers without authorization using stolen passwords to unlawfully collect business intelligence,” Acting U.S. Attorney Seth DuCharme said Wednesday in a press release.
Ticketmaster is a subsidiary of LiveNation (LYV). In 2019, Democratic senators called for a federal antitrust investigation of LiveNation for what they called “nefarious practices” and “sky-high fees” levied on consumers.
The company will pay the fine to resolve a five-count criminal information filed Wednesday with counts including conspiracy to commit computer intrusion, computer intrusion of a protected computer, computer intrusion in furtherance of fraud, wire fraud conspiracy and wire fraud.
According to the deferred prosecution agreement unsealed Wednesday, a former Ticketmaster employee named Zeeshan Zaidi went to work for Live Nation in 2013 as a consultant, and was hired full time to work for Ticketmaster in 2014 after leaving a competing company, which is unnamed in the court filing.
Zaidi allegedly had access to usernames and passwords for the unnamed competitor, and used them without authorization to access that company’s systems while working for Ticketmaster between 2013 and 2015. The deferred prosecution agreement states that the information obtained from accessing the systems was used, for among other things, to prepare “strategy presentations for senior Live Nation and Ticketmaster executives that benchmarked competitor products and services,” including ones offered by the competitor company.
A press release by federal prosecutors said Ticketmaster employees held a division-wide summit during which the stolen passwords were used to access the victim company’s computers “as if that were an appropriate business tactic.”
According to the deferred prosecution agreement, a Ticketmaster executive described that the goal was to “choke off” the victim company and “steal back” one of its clients.
Zaidi was terminated from Ticketmaster in 2017 and pleaded guilty in Brooklyn federal court in 2019 to one count of conspiring to access protected computers without authorization and to commit wire fraud, according to the deferred prosecution agreement. Zaidi’s sentencing has been delayed, according to court filings. CNN has contacted his attorneys for comment.
“When employees walk out of one company and into another, it’s illegal for them to take proprietary information with them,” said FBI Assistant Director-in-Charge William Sweeney, whose office is conducting the investigation. “Ticketmaster used stolen information to gain an advantage over its competition, and then promoted the employees who broke the law.”
In a remote court proceeding Wednesday, Ticketmaster General Counsel Michael Rowles, a subsidiary of LiveNation, entered the deferred prosecution agreement and waived the company’s right to have indictment proceedings on behalf of Ticketmaster, with authorization of the board, he said in the remote proceeding Wednesday.

NURSE AND COVID PATIENT SNEAK IN SOME BATHROOM SEX
Nurse strips off PPE suit to have sex with Covid patient in hospital toilet, suspended
A man, who tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Jakarta,
had sex with a nurse in the toilet of the hospital and shared gory details on social media.
In a rather bizarre incident, a nurse has been suspended after he had sex with a Covid-19 patient in the toilet of a hospital in Indonesia. Both are in isolation after the patient published details about the incident on social media.
A man, who tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Jakarta, had sex with a nurse in the toilet of the hospital and shared gory details on social media, The Sun reports. He uploaded a screenshot of WhatsApp messages that were exchanged between both of them.
The man and the nurse were both questioned after his particular post went viral on social media. Both admitted that they met to have sex in a toilet at the Wisma Atlet quarantine facility in Jakarta, The Sun reports. The nurse, in fact, stripped off his PPE suit before the act.
Lieutenant Colonel Arh Herwin BS, head of information at the Regional Military Command, said that both the patient and the nurse were arrested.
Speaking to local media, Herwin said, “This case has been transferred to the Central Jakarta Police. We have secured the health worker to become a witness and ask for further information. Meanwhile, the patient continues to undergo isolation at the Athlete’s House. Due to conditions and health protocol rules, the nurse has been in contact with a Covid-19 patient, so is undergoing isolation for some time.”

DIPSHIDIOT GOVERNOR CUOMO CONTINUES ARROGANT SHAME
Stefanik calls Cuomo ‘absolute disgrace’ for prioritizing drug addicts for coronavirus vaccine The governor’s press briefing came as the state was expecting to receive nearly 260,000 doses of Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna vaccines.
“The Worst Governor in America streak continues,” Stefanik tweeted, sharing a link to a New York Post report on the governor’s daily press briefing where he said that drug addicts would be among those administered COVID-19 vaccines.
“This time prioritizing vaccines for drug addicts over tens of thousands of seniors who have been home bound since the start of the pandemic,” Stefanik wrote.
Cuomo’s press briefing on Monday came as the state was expecting to receive nearly 260,000 doses of Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna vaccines.
Cuomo said that shots would be given to “priority populations” and that when more vaccines are available, these populations will expand.
would be given to residents of Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) facilities. The agency runs 12 treatment centers across the state of New York, five of which are located in and around New York City.
“These are congregant facilities, congregant facilities are problematic. It’s where you have a lot of people in concentration,” Cuomo said. “Nursing homes are obviously the most problematic because they’re congregant plus older, vulnerable people. OASAS — what we call the ‘O’ facilities — they’re congregant, not necessarily older, but congregant facilities.”
A spokesperson for the governor’s office disputed Stefanik’s framing of Cuomo’s vaccine rollout plan, noting that nursing home residents would still be receiving the vaccine.

MITCH McCONNELL STOPS $2000 RELIEF CHECKS IN SENATE
McConnell blocks Democrats’ attempts to boost relief checks to $2,000
GOP leader cites other Trump priorities along with bigger rebates
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Tuesday blocked two Democratic attempts to approve a bill that would provide $2,000 tax rebate payments to Americans instead of the $600 lawmakers approved just last week.
McConnell first objected to a unanimous consent request from Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer that the chamber immediately pass the bill. He then objected to Vermont independent Sen. Bernie Sanders‘ request that the Senate approve the bill after it votes to override President Donald Trump’s veto of the annual defense policy bill.
Sanders then objected to McConnell’s attempts to set up a veto override vote on the defense bill Wednesday, likely delaying that vote until Jan. 1 at the earliest.
The impasse about when and how the Senate would bring up a bill to increase the direct payments will likely become intertwined with addressing election security and overhauling a 1996 law that provides some legal protections to social media companies and other websites for the content posted on their platforms. That provision is often referred to as Section 230.
Trump listed all three as issues he wants lawmakers to address when he signed the $1.4 trillion omnibus and coronavirus relief package into law on Sunday. And McConnell introduced a bill later Tuesday to package all three elements together, infuriating Schumer who said the move was “a blatant attempt to deprive Americans of a $2,000 survival check.”

CNN’S JIM ACOSTA ADMITS NO BIAS TOWARDS BIDEN LIKE TRUMP
CNN’s Jim Acosta roasted for saying covering Trump was ‘nonstop national emergency,’ ‘
might merit hazard pay’
Liberal reporter tells The Atlantic that Biden’s presidency could be ‘approached differently’
CNN’s Jim Acosta was accused of being “literally delusional” on Tuesday after admitting he doesn’t plan to cover Joe Biden‘s presidency as actively as he did the Trump administration, claiming covering Trump was “an experience that might merit hazard pay.”
A piece published by The Atlantic on Tuesday, “The Resistance’s Breakup With the Media Is at Hand,” by McKay Coppins notes, “The White House spent four years vilifying journalists” and asked, “What comes next?” Coppins noted “the Trump era has been especially rewarding to a certain class of Washington reporter,” which includes CNN’s Acosta.
“As the White House beat became the biggest story in the world, once-obscure correspondents were recast in the popular imagination as resistance heroes fighting for truth, justice, and the American way. They were showered with book deals, speaking gigs, and hundreds of thousands of Twitter followers,” he wrote, pondering what reporters who “got famous fighting with Trump” plan to do next.
Acosta, who emerged as a hero of the anti-Trump “resistance” for his combative style of questioning members of the administration, is perhaps the most famous example of someone who benefited from covering Trump. Coppins noted critics who have accused him of “showboating” with such antics as walking out of a press conference after then–Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders refused to say reporters weren’t enemies of the people.
“But he insists that his on-air indignation has always been genuine,” Coppins wrote before Acosta admitted he wouldn’t cover Biden with as much ferocity.
“You can’t just go and trash the press and totally lie to the American people and tell them real news is fake news … I don’t think the press should be trying to whip up the Biden presidency and turn it into must-see TV in a contrived way,” Acosta told Coppins.
GALLUP POLL PRESIDENT TRUMP 2020 MOST ADMIRED MAN
Gallup Poll: President Trump And Michelle Obama Most Admired Man And Woman In America
The president was the most-admired man in America this year according to Gallup. He tied former President Obama last year. Melania Trump was the third-most admired woman in America.
President Trump and former first lady Michelle Obama were named the most admired man and woman in 2020, according to an annual survey by Gallup. The analytics and advisory company conducted telephone interviews with a random sample of 1,018 adults across the country in the first weeks of December.
Last year, Trump tied with former President Obama, who was named most-admired the past 12 consecutive years. But the president managed to pull away this year with 18%, 3% ahead of Obama.
Michelle Obama was ranked as the most admired woman in America for the third year in a row. The runner up was Vice President-elect Kamala Harris, followed by first lady Melania Trump, according to Gallup.
Former first lady Michelle Obama with Oprah Winfrey (who placed fourth) in February. This marks the third consecutive year that Obama was the most admired woman in America, according to Gallup.
The poll has taken place every year since 1946. White House occupants—past, present and future presidents and first ladies—are almost always contenders, Gallup said. As most-admired man, 48% of Republicans chose Trump, with no other public figure receiving more than 2%. Democrats split their votes between Obama, 32%, and President-elect Joe Biden, 13%.
Outside of the political realm, Americans named Dr. Anthony Fauci, Pope Francis, Elon Musk, Bill Gates, LeBron James and the Dalai Lama as the most admired men of the year.
Queen Elizabeth II tied with Angela Merkel, Hillary Clinton and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in fifth place, each receiving 2%. The Queen has placed in the top 10 a total of 52 times. The only person who has more top-10 finishes is the late
evangelist Billy Graham, who has made the list 61 times.
Additionally, many people named a relative or friend as most-admired, 11% for a man and 16% for a woman. About 20% of those polled didn’t offer an opinion as to whom they most-admire.
ANTIFA MAJOR PLAYER A CHIDRENS COUNSELOR
A Seattle-area Antifa member, who has been arrested multiple times during violent protests and tweeted out a list of businesses that supported the city’s efforts to clean out a homeless encampment, has been identified as a children’s camp counselor and substitute teacher.
On Dec. 16, Mikaele Andrew Baker, 23, tweeted a list with the names of businesses and a resident that signed a petition in support of sweeping Cal Anderson Park, reported the Post Millennial, an online publication that frequently reports on Antifa and other left-wing groups. The park was the previous site of the Capitol Hill Organized Protest — or CHOP over the summer.
An Antifa militant, Mikaele Andrew Baker, who publicized a hit list of Seattle business owners has been identified as a “trans nonbinary furry” and “children’s camp counselor” who has been arrested multiple times at violent protests.
“These are the businesses (and literally one, single resident) that signed a petition to sweep Cal Anderson Park. No further comment,” Baker tweeted under the pseudonym “@ComradeFlute” along with a screenshot of a list.
In a follow-up post, another Antifa activist posted the addresses associated with the business owners.
“If we do stop this sweep, that’s a victory, and we can carry that energy to the next action,” Baker tweeted on Dec. 17.
In addition to tweeting about protests, Baker also posted about working with children.
“I work full time as a childcare worker and I’m a substitute teacher, idk what makes you think I’d be unemployed,” he wrote in response to another Twitter user.
In a subsequent post, Baker said: I’m a history teacher, I’m from the Olympic Peninsula before moving to Seattle for school and work.”
The Twitter account has since been deleted.
TWO MEN CLAIM THEY GAVE AWAY FREE METH
Two Altoona men said they sold gave away free meth
A Pennsylvania man charged with narcotics distribution claimed to police that he did not sell methamphetamine, but instead gave it away for free to those who came to his storage unit and asked for the drug, according to a criminal complaint.
Mark Hiles, 56, was arrested Saturday for allegedly selling drugs from a storage unit several blocks from his home in Altoona. Hiles, free on $50,000 bond, faces a pair of felony drug charges and three misdemeanor counts.
According to police, Hiles and Tyler Bartley, 25, were collared after investigators found them inside Hiles’s storage unit, which “appeared to being used as a residence.” During questioning, Bartley reportedly admitted that he worked as a “middleman” setting up drug transactions between Hiles and street buyers.
Bartley told cops that he would “exchange money for drugs” at Hiles’s storage unit, adding that “a large amount of methamphetamine was to be in the storage unit.”
When police searched Hiles, they recovered baggies containing meth and bath salts, marijuana, and “3 glass pipes with residue.”
In a post-arrest interview, Hiles was asked about the foot traffic to and from his storage unit. Hiles explained that “his friends stop by to see him because they know he has methamphetamine,” the complaint states. “The Defendant denied selling methamphetamine for money, but stated he would provide methamphetamine to users for free when they asked.”
Investigators reported that they were familiar with Hiles’s storage unit since they had responded there last month following a “suspected overdose death.” While a “large quantity of suspected heroin had been seized,” cops say, Hiles was not charged in connection with that incident.
Hiles’s rap sheet includes multiple drug convictions, for which he has served several years in state prison. Hiles told cops that he is “currently unemployed and on disability with a monthly income of around $1300.”
