Northern California Has A Grand Canyon And It’s Too Beautiful For Words

Preview(opens in a new tab)

Do you think of Northern California when you think of the Grand Canyon? Well, you should!

We may not have the biggest one of all, but we do have one.

Tucked away in one of the most incredible state parks is where you’ll find it. Seem to good to be true? It’s not.

Once upon a time millions of years ago water began to run through Yosemite Valley.

Today this place is known as the Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne.

Years of rushing water found its way from east to west in the meandering Tuolumne River.

While Yosemite might be one of the most well-known state parks in Northern California, there’s a lot here to see.

If you enjoy hiking you might just feel like you’ve discovered a slice of heaven.

The meadows below the canyon are some of the most gorgeous in this canyon.

The water runs day and night…the best sound of all.

Some parts are more bare than others.

If you’re the type of person who loves a desert topography there’s a little bit of that here, too.

What more can we say? The Grand Canyon of Tuolumne is where God dropped the mic.

When was the last time you brought the whole gang for a little healthy fun?

Take a drive, then take a hike. You won’t be sorry!

Now, you have a choice.

Stay inside the golden state and get your Grand Canyon fill of beauty,

or spend a lot more money and take the family to that other one.

300 PEOPLE CHARGED FOR THE CAPITOL RIOT

300 PEOPLE CHARGED FOR THE CAPITOL RIOT

U.S. says more than 300 people charged to date over Capitol riots

The U.S. Justice Department has charged more than 300 people with taking part in the deadly storming of the Capitol by former President Donald Trump’s supporters, and at least 280 have been arrested, Acting Deputy Attorney General John Carlin told reporters on Friday.

“The investigation into those responsible is moving at a speed and scale that’s unprecedented, and rightly so,” he said. “Those responsible must be held to account, and they will be.”

His comments came just one day after Capitol Police Acting Chief Yogananda Pittman told lawmakers that Trump supporters had indicated they may wish to blow up the building. Pittman expressed concern extremists could target Congress during an address by President Joe Biden.

A senior FBI official, responding to questions about that threat on Friday, said the bureau is “watching very closely for any reaction from individuals that would show either an intent to commit an attack or somebody that has already committed one.”

DAWG SAYS: THOSE PEOPLE I WASHINGTON DESERVED TO BE CHARGED. BUT SO DO THE PEOPLE IN PORTLAND WHO CONTINUALLY AND ROUTINLEY HAD THE CHARGES DISMISSED AFTER ENDORSEMENT AND BAIL RAISING BY PEOPLE LIKE KAMALA HARRIS.

JUSTICE IS VERY STRANGE IN AMERICA THESE DAYS.

FEDERAL JUDGE OVERTURNS EVICTION BAN

FEDERAL JUDGE OVERTURNS EVICTION BAN

Federal Judge Rules Nationwide Eviction Ban Is Unconstitutional

A  judge in Texas on Thursday ruled that the federal government does not have the authority to issue a nationwide eviction moratorium.

READ RULING HERE:

U.S. District Judge John Barker, a Trump appointee, ruled in favor of a group of property managers and landlords who challenged a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) order that prevented them from temporarily evicting tenants for non-payment of rent during the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus
pandemic.

The CDC order in question was initially issued in September 2020 and was originally set to expire on Dec. 31, 2020. It was extended to Jan. 31 and then again until the end of March. The order aimed to mitigate the spread of the pandemic by reducing congregation in shared living settings or in unsheltered homeless areas, and support state and local responses to the disease.

NOTHING WORSE THAN A WOMAN SCORNED

Ex-girlfriend leads FBI to Capitol riot suspect who called her a ‘moron’ in a text, feds say

A woman turned in her ex-boyfriend to the FBI after he took a break during last month’s Capitol riot to berate her in a text message, authorities said.

Richard Michetti’s one-time girlfriend gave authorities a series of texts that led to his arrest, including a 4:26 p.m. missive that read, “If you can’t see the election was stolen, you’re a moron,” according to an affidavit by FBI Special Agent Christopher Dillon.

The Ridley Park, Pennsylvania, man appeared in federal court in Philadelphia on Tuesday and was placed under home detention until trial.

Court documents show several pictures of Michetti in a Chicago White Sox baseball cap, inside the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, as pro-Trump supporters tried to stop Congress from formally accepting the Electoral College votes that delivered November’s election to President Joe Biden. The riot left five people dead, including Capitol police Officer Brian Sicknick.

In one of the texts outlined in the documents, Michetti wrote: “This is our country do you think we live like kings because no one sacrificed anything. he vote was fraud and trump won but they won’t audit the votes.”

EARLY PRISON RELEASE AND TRYING TO FEED HIS FAMILY

Oklahoma man accused of cutting neighbor’s heart out, feeding it to his family

An Oklahoma man suspected of murdering three people has confessed to killing his neighbor, cutting her heart out and then cooking it to feed his family, authorities said.

Lawrence Anderson allegedly stabbed Andrea Lynn Blankenship, 41, to death in her Chickasha home on Feb. 9, The Oklahoman reported.

“He took the heart back to 214 West Minnesota, Chickasha,” an agent with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation wrote in a search warrant obtained by the outlet.

“He cooked the heart with potatoes to feed to his family to release the demons.”

Anderson had been staying at the 214 West Minnesota address with his aunt, Delsie Pye, and uncle, Leon Pye, after his early prison release in January.

DIPSHIDIOT SOUTH DAKOTA ATTORNEY GENERAL CHARGED IN DEATH

Victim’s glasses found in car of South Dakota Attorney General who claimed he hit a deer Jason Ravnsborg charged with three misdemeanour counts after accident leading to death of 55-year-old pedestrian

Calls for the resignation of South Dakota’s Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg are mounting after investigators found the glasses of a crash victim in Mr Ravnsborg’s vehicle. He claims he thought he drove into a deer and didn’t know it was a pedestrian until the next morning.

Mr Ravnsborg was charged with three misdemeanour counts last week after the accident leading to the death of 55-year-old Joseph Boever, CNN reported.

New evidence was released on Tuesday night, with investigators now saying that Mr Boever was hit with such force that his face came through the windshield of Mr Ravnsborg’s vehicle. He hit and killed Mr Boever on 12 September of last year.

“They’re Joe’s glasses, so that means his face came through your windshield,” one investigator tells Mr Ravnsborg during a filmed interview. The footage was released on Tuesday.

“I did not see those glasses until you showed them to me,” Mr Ravnsborg responded.

“The only way for them to get there is through the windshield,” the law enforcement official says. “His face was in your windshield, Jason. Think about that.”

“I did not see him. I did not see anything,” Mr Ravnsborg said. “I did not know it was a human until the next day.”

Hasbro rebranding Mr. Potato Head toy line as gender-neutral ‘Potato Head

The branding of the overall toy line is changing,

Mr. Potato Head, the classic Hasbro toy brand which includes the mustachioed Mr. Potato Head and clean-shaven Mrs. Potato Head, will soon be rebranded as the gender-neutral “Potato Head” toy line.

The new branding will be reflected on packaging scheduled to debut later this year, the Associated Press reported on Thursday.

Hasbro says its Mr. Potato Head brand, which includes all kinds of toy tubers, is being changed simply to “Potato Head” in order to “better reflect the full line.” The brand stresses, however, that neither of the individual Mr. or Mrs. Potato Head toys will be renamed.

“While we’re renaming the Mr. Potato Head brand to Potato Head to better reflect the full line, the iconic Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head characters aren’t going anywhere and will remain Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head,” the brand wrote in a statement shared with Fox News. (Hasbro)

SCOTUS DECLINES MORE ELECTION CASES

SCOTUS DECLINES MORE ELECTION CASES

SCOTUS scoots past Penn. election law case

The Supreme Court on Monday rejected a handful of cases related to the 2020 election, including disputes from Pennsylvania that had deeply divided the justices just before the election.

The cases the justices rejected involved election challenges filed by former President Donald Trump and his allies in five states President Joe Biden won: Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

The justices’ decision not to hear the cases ends months of legal wrangling. The court had previously taken no action in those cases and in January had turned away pleas that the cases be fast-tracked, again suggesting the justices were not interested in hearing them.

Some of the justices, however, had strong feelings about the court’s decision not to hear two cases from Pennsylvania that had been particularly contentious in the battleground state. The cases involved an appeal of a Pennsylvania Supreme Court decision requiring election officials to receive and count mailed-in ballots that arrived up to three days after the election. Three of the nine justices said they would have heard the case, which would not have affected the election’s outcome.

Justice Clarence Thomas called the cases an “ideal opportunity” to address an important question whether state lawmakers or state courts get the last word about the manner in which federal elections are carried out. And he called it “befuddling” and “inexplicable” that his colleagues were declining to weigh in.

Sandy Rios, director of governmental affairs said: “Justice [Clarence] Thomas makes the point [in his dissent that] this is going to happen again – and with H.R. 1 on the plate … this signals that the court is not willing to do anything. [H.R. 1 is a] horrible, horrible takeover of the election system by the feds, controlled then by the leftist government that you’re watching taking more and more power day by day. It’s coming up probably this week for a vote; something has to stop them.”

“[I suspect] Justice [John] Roberts and others on that court are really afraid that the Democrats are going to expand the court and they will lose their power – and this is their way of saying [to the Democrats] ‘You don’t need to [do that]’. Because why would they expand it [if] they have the court they need? They have this wonderful court that rules in their favor. And now with Amy Coney Barrett, [Brett] Kavanaugh, [Chief Justice] Roberts already are ruling with the liberal justices, why would you expand the court?”

DAWG SAYS: I DO NOT KNOW FOR SURE BUT APPEARS SCOTUS IS TAKING A HANDS OFF APPROACH TO MANY THINGS THAT NEED TO BE DECIDED.

ARE THEY CONCERND ABOUT COURT PACKING IF THEY DON’T?

HAVE THEY BEEN INTIMIDATED?

YouTube AI Blocked Chess Channel Over Racial Slurs Like “Black and White”

The Youtube channel, which is named ‘Agadmator‘, belongs to Croatian chess player Antonio Radic and has been the unintended victim of AI algorithms that are set up to detect racist content and hate speech.

Last year, the world’s most popular YouTube chess channel, with 1.000.000 subscribers and over 393 million views in total, was blocked over charges of “harmful and dangerous” content.

The incident happened on 28 June 2020 when Radic’s channel was blocked during a chess show with Grandmaster Hikaru Nakamura because of the AI algorithms which mistook the two chess players’ conversation about black and white chess pieces as racism. Fortunately, the channel was restored within 24 hours.

Ashiqur KhudaBukhsh, a project scientist at CMU’s Language Technologies Institute, and fellow researcher Rupak Sarkar at Carnegie Melon’s Language Technologies Institute have tested the ‘black v white’ chess match theory by using AI software to screen an impressive 680.000 comments from 5 popular chess YouTube channels.

Their conclusion after manually reviewing chess videos and 1.000 comments, was that over 80% of them had been flagged by the speech classifiers as hate speech because of terms such as “black”, “white”, “attack” and “threat”.

RETIRED PITCHER CURT SCHILLING SPEAKS OUT ABOUT HOF

Schilling asks to be removed from ’22 ballot

After missing out on election to the National Baseball Hall of Fame by 16 votes on Tuesday, former pitcher Curt Schilling announced that he does not intend to have his name on the Baseball Writers’ Association of America ballot for 2022 — which would be his 10th and final year of eligibility.

“I will not participate in the final year of voting,” Schilling wrote in a letter to the Hall of Fame that he shared publicly on social media. “I am requesting to be removed from the ballot.”

No new HOF electees in 2021

Jane Forbes Clark, the Chairman of the Board for the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, released a statement on Schilling’s request Tuesday night.

“As you know, the Board of Directors of the National Baseball Hall of Fame sets the rules and procedures for the BBWAA balloting process,” the statement read. “The Board has received Curt Schilling’s request for removal from the 2022 ballot, and will consider the request at our next meeting.”
