The United States is preparing to increase the number of troops it keeps in Afghanistan in 2015 to fill a gap left in the NATO mission by other contributing nations, according to three sources with direct knowledge of the situation.
The final numbers are still being agreed, but there will be at least several hundred more than initially planned, one of the sources said.
“If they hadn’t done that, the mission would have lost bases,” the source said.
Under the U.S. commitment, described as a “bridging solution” until other nations fulfill their pledges later in the year or the troops are no longer needed, Washington may provide up to 1,000 extra soldiers.
Didn’t our President constantly brag about he got us out of that region?
Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio has filed a lawsuit against The president for his stance on immigration control.
His complaint says: Obama’s immigration actions are “unconstitutional abuses of the President’s role in our nation’s constitutional architecture and exceed the powers of the President within the U.S. Constitution.“
In a statement, Arpaio said the executive order will “severely strain our resources, both in manpower and financially, necessary to protect the citizens I was elected to serve.”
He also said among the many negative effects will be the “increased release of criminal aliens back onto streets of Maricopa County, Arizona, and the rest of the nation.”
Arpaio says he will not use taxpayers’ dollars in the lawsuit.
On a personal note I have not seen a plan to stop deported immigrants from returning the same ways as before. Recently in Sacramento, California, records have shown a illegal who killed two deputies had been deported 4 times for crimes, including some felonies, but was still able to return anytime he saw fit. How are we going to stop this type thing?
If there was a good border policy in place this would have never happened.
