LGBT COMMUNITY TAKING A HARD PASS ON CAITLYN JENNER

LGBT activists not excited by Jenner’s campaign for governor

Though Caitlyn Jenner is one of the most famous transgender people in America, the announcement of her candidacy for California governor was greeted hostilely by one of the state’s largest LGBTQ-rights groups and by many trans activists around the country.

Jenner says she will run for governor of California. Jenner says in statement posted Friday, April 23, on Twitter that she has filed initial paperwork to run. Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom is facing a likely recall election this year.

“Make no mistake: we can’t wait to elect a #trans governor of California,” tweeted the group, Equality California. “But @Caitlyn_Jenner spent years telling the #LGBTQ+ community to trust Donald Trump. We saw how that turned out. Now she wants us to trust her? Hard pass.”

Jenner – the former Olympic gold medalist and reality TV personality — is a Republican and supported Trump in 2016. She later criticized his administration for some discriminatory actions against transgender people, but has failed to convince many trans-rights advocates that she is a major asset to their cause.

“Caitlyn Jenner is a deeply unqualified hack who doesn’t care about anyone but herself,” tweeted trans activist Charlotte Clymer. “Her views are terrible. She is a horrible candidate.”

Jennifer Finney Boylan, a transgender writer and professor at Barnard College, appeared on multiple episodes of Jenner’s TV show, “I Am Cait” and considers her a friend. But she’s not an admirer of Jenner’s politics.

“I wish her well personally,” Boylan said via email. “But I can’t see how the conservative policies she is likely to embrace will help Californians.”

DAWG SAYS: YOU ARE IN PRETTY BAD SHAPE IF A TRANSVESTITE PERSON CANNOT GET THAT KIND OF SUPPORT IN CALIFORNIA.

CAITLYN JENNER FILES PAPERS TO RUN FOR GOVERNOR – CALIFORNIA’S SAVIOR HAS ARRIVED

Caitlyn Jenner files paperwork to run for governor of California

Former Olympic decathlete and reality TV star Caitlyn Jenner has filed her initial paperwork to run for governor of California and will officially announce her bid later today, her campaign tells Axios.

The big picture: Jenner, a longtime Republican, is seeking to replace Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom in a recall election, hoping her celebrity status and name recognition can yield an upset in the nation’s most populous state.

  • But in deep-blue California, she’s decidedly not branding herself as a Trump Republican even as she’s counting on some of the former president’s advisers to drive her strategy.

Ellen DeGeneres ‘can’t understand’ Caitlyn Jenner opposing equal marriage

Ellen DeGeneres has spoken about Caitlyn Jenner’s surprising admission that she previously opposed same-sex marriage.
The Olympian and reality show star appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres Show this week – where she admitted that she used to oppose equal marriage, before publicly coming out as transgender.
Explaining that she had changed her mind on the issue, she said: “If the word ‘marriage’ is really, really that important to you, I can go with it.”

However, Ellen DeGeneres appears to have been taken aback by the answer – telling SiriusXM host Howard Stern that she was baffled.
She said: “Caitlyn Jenner is on the show today, and she really still has a judgement about gay marriage.
“I said to her: ‘You’re wanting people to understand and accept you – this is like really confusing to people – but you still have a judgement about gay people and marriage’.
“She said ‘if the word marriage is that important’ …and I was like, ‘it is, because that’s the word!’. We want the same thing as everybody.”

DeGeneres also questioned the star’s Republican beliefs – despite Republicans actively opposing trans rights. Republican Presidential wannabe Mike Huckabee recently ‘joked’ he wishes he were trans to spy on girls in the shower.
The out comic said: “She’s a Republican and conservative – and I think a lot of Republicans are wishing she wasn’t a Republican.”
The entertainer also revealed that Jenner refused to dance with her – which most guests including President Obama have done do on the talk show.
She said: “No, she didn’t dance. I don’t think she’s a dancer.
“Maybe she didn’t want to dance with me cause I’m a lesbian! She was great, it was a great interview. I don’t really know her, and I’m trying to understand it, because I don’t fully understand it either.
“I also want everyone to be happy I don’t fully understand all of that, but I want her to be happy. Which is what I want for her, for me.”
Ms Jenner, who says she has always felt female, has been married to three women.
I have no issues with LBGT issues, as long as they don’t throw it in my face, But Cailyn Jenner is not the hero people make her out to be. Be more selective who you idolize.
